Opera Scenes: "Boys Will Be Boys" featuring Maurice Ravel's “L’enfant et les sortilèges” Kerry Jennings, director Recital Hall November 13–15, 2026 8 PM: November 13,14 3 PM: November 15 Tickets: $5 All orders are subject to a $4 processing fee. CSUF students can register here to receive a complimentary ticket to music, theatre, and dance performances throughout the academic year. Boys Will Be Boys explores boys in all their charming, mischievous, romantic, and unruly forms. From the youthful Octavian navigating the bittersweet surrender of first love in the transcendent trio from Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier , to mistaken identities and the consequences of bad behavior in the sextet from Mozart’s Don Giovanni , the program celebrates opera’s boys behaving—well, like boys. Jonathan Dove’s The Adventures of Pinocchio introduces a wooden puppet longing to become a real boy, while the evening is anchored by Ravel’s magical one-act opera L’enfant et les sortilèges , in which one very badly behaved child discovers that actions have consequences. Whimsical, poignant, and delightfully unruly, Boys Will Be Boys offers a journey from boyish mischief to unexpected moments of tenderness and transformation. ___________________________________________________________________ Box Office Tuesday–Friday, 12 PM to 4 PM Closed on major holidays, during University closures, and Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks CPAC Box Office information Parking Park in the Nutwood Structure at the corner of Nutwood Ave. and St. College Blvd. Friday after 5 PM; Saturday and Sunday is FREE Weekday parking: $4/hour or $12/day Visitor parking information
